First Friday.
My name is Eddie Quinton, penned as “Luck.E”, I am a self-taught traditional watercolorist based out of Kansas City. My body of work takes the transparency and fluidity of watercolorpigments to explore trademarked concepts of philosophy. My influences come through the study of literature, observation of life, and personal reflection.
A routine and diligent study of value, form, and color harmony over the last two years has given me the tactile skills needed to render the intangible perspective I’ve had my whole life. I want my work to act as a reminder to take time and reflect. “Places remind us of people, people remind us of things, and things remind us of feelings”- this self-perpetuating sense of correlation and familiarity that we all experience in life and the goal of my work.
My recent collection of works revolves around the allegory of the tiger and their nature. The tiger is one of nature’s greatest figurative icons and is depicted frequently in cultures around the world as a force of nature, a totem of character, or a warning.
