Kaelyn is an interior designer and embroidery artist living in Kansas City. She grew up in a small town in northern Missouri, surrounded by women who quilted, embroidered, and always had a project in their hands. From an early age, she found herself most content when she was creating, and that instinct has followed her ever since.
Her embroidery is a modern take on traditional cross stitch. She designs her own patterns, drawing them by hand on graph paper before stitching them into place. Her work is influenced by quilting, folk art, and vintage tile, while her background in interior design shapes the way she approaches color, composition, and pattern.
Each piece is made entirely by hand and can take 20 hours or more to complete. This collection is made up of pieces slowly created over the past 10 months, bringing together the techniques and ideas she has been exploring through embroidery. She hopes you enjoy them.
