Our Story

Our Path. Our Journey.
The name Morning Rounds was chosen as a tribute to the healthcare community. In the hospital, “Rounds” are when the healthcare team gathers around a patient each morning to share concerns, acknowledge progress, and work together on the best plan of care for that day. It’s a meaningful pause.
After many years as a nurse, owner Andrea Rainey carries that spirit of connection and care into the bakery through good food, thoughtful coffee, and a welcoming place to pause and connect, whatever time your morning begins.
We hope the name Morning Rounds reminds you to take your own meaningful pause and that every visit gives you a little something positive to carry with you into the rest of your day.

Andrea’s connection to baking began in childhood, when time in the kitchen first showed her how food could bring people together. What started with curiosity and the simple pleasure of making something for others became an interest she continued to carry with her, even as her life took her in other directions.
Over time, that early interest grew into a serious pursuit. Andrea studied baking professionally and broadened her perspective through experiences around the world and across the industry. Along the way, she developed the skill to honor the fundamentals while continuing to experiment with flavors, ingredients, and new interpretations of familiar favorites.

Andrea also built a career in nursing, where caring for people meant paying attention, responding to individual needs, and showing up during moments that mattered. Nursing deepened her understanding of service and introduced her to people whose mornings often began before sunrise (or only after a long overnight shift had ended.)
Morning Rounds grew from the many parts of Andrea’s journey: a lifelong love of baking, professional training, creative exploration, and a career devoted to caring for others. She created a bakery and coffee shop where those experiences could come together – serving original pastries, thoughtfully crafted coffee, and a little something good for whatever the day may hold.
